Rotating 15th August?
Why does delhi need to host all 15 Aug "celebrations"? Or as a matter of fact 26th jan as well? Just because its the capital of the country and "tradition" dictates that the capital be host to all such functions? They dont have the olympics at the same city each time, do they?
If its something that the entire nation is a part of then why doesnt it go around different parts of the country each year. Sure enough, guys to unfurl the flag and all can fly down and do the honours!
Will surely give weary delhi-ites a welcome break! We celebrate freedom day, yet on that day delhi dwellers have most of their freedoms crubed. Roads are blocked off, markets shut, airspace shut, movements restricted so on.
Why not rotate it, each year a new city. Mumbaikars would sure like a bit of recognition and security. Should be nice to see chennai humming to vande mataram and sare jehan se accha. Ex-capital kolkata, all nostalgia!
Instead of poorly attended mini-shows, lets take the big one all around!

Nice idea .. but this would mean all the snob value of Delhi diminishing .. and i am sure all the bureaucracy would should .. How can you have 15th Aug or 26th Jan without the INDIA GATE !!!! or REd Fort or.....
